I am a Toronto-based documentary photographer who blends traditional and contemporary practices.
Originally from Prince Edward Island, I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) University in 1989 and a Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Media at Ryerson University in 2012.
For the past 25 years I have explored ferry systems and their cultural significance. In 1992, I documented the final years of the Borden/Cape Tormentine Ferry prior to the opening of the Confederation Bridge linking P.E.I. to New Brunswick. A recent exhibition, Passages explored the 179-year history of the Toronto Island Ferry and its interrelationship with both residents and non-residents of Toronto Island.
My work has been exhibited at the Anna Leonowens Gallery in Halifax, N.S., The Gallery @ The Guild in Charlottetown P.E.I., and the Harbourfront, AWOL, IMA, and G44 Galleries in Toronto, Ontario.
